Rick Semple was born into a prominent Western, Pa. golf family. He started hitting balls at the age of three, played on his high school golf team and at Duke University. When work and family life began to limit his practice and playing time as the years went by, it became a never- ending struggle to fix this, fix that. More or less a band-aid approach, with only sporadic success, even with instruction. He began to think that there must be a better, simpler way for him to approach golf improvement. No, it wasn’t an epiphany. It was an ongoing thought process, and along the way Rick and his wife Christy, a licensed minister and spiritual counselor, teamed up to form theheartofgolf.com. We’re regular working folks, and rec golfers, just like the majority of our readers. Our main mission is to advocate a thought and action process which works from the center (or heart of the matter) outward. No fancy, big-time sales promos here. In truth we unveil no “secrets”. Everything presented is right out in the open, right now, for each one of us. Our job is mostly to realize it and start to believe it. The rest of the process—the physical “doing”, which can often feel more like “undoing”-- can be relatively uncomplicated.

Few of us have the capacity to hit 300 yd drives, but every individual of any age has the wherewithal to change their thinking, and improve their games.
